Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Signature San Marcos Concrete & Masonry website and any work you ask us to quote or do. By using the site, calling us or sending the contact form, you agree to them, so please read them before you book.

If you don't agree, please don't use the site. A signed contract for your job will carry its own terms, and where that contract and this page differ, the contract controls.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in San Marcos, CA, and our crew handles concrete, block, brick and stone work for homes in San Marcos and the cities around it. You can see the full list of services from our home page and read more about our crew on our about page.

The descriptions on this site are general information about the trade and how we usually work. They aren't a promise that a given method, material or result fits your house, because we only know that once we've seen the site.

Estimates and pricing

We give free quotes on site, with no pressure to book. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure on that visit, and it stays good for the period written on it.

Masonry work can turn up surprises once it's open, such as damaged footings, buried debris or failed mortar behind a sound face. If we find conditions like that, or if you ask for changes, we'll explain what changed and agree on the new scope and price with you in writing before we do the added work.

Prices you see anywhere other than your written estimate or contract are not an offer for your job.

Scheduling and cancellations

We'll set a start date with you once the contract is signed and any needed permits and materials are in place. Start and finish dates are our best estimate, because weather, material deliveries, permit and inspection timing, and conditions found on site can move them.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (760) 304-1464 as early as you can. Where you've already been charged for special-order materials or work we've started, your contract says what's owed, and you keep any cancellation rights California law gives you.

Payment

Your contract sets out the deposit, if any, the payment schedule and the payment methods we accept. Payments are due on the dates written there, and California law limits how much a contractor may ask for up front on home improvement work.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's brought current, and we may use the remedies state law allows, including lien rights on the property.

Warranties and what we don't promise

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, and any written warranty on your job is spelled out in your contract, including what it covers and for how long. Materials also carry their makers' warranties, which we'll pass along to you.

Apart from those written warranties and any rights you have under the law, we don't make other promises about the work or this website. Concrete and mortar can show hairline cracks, color variation and small shifts over time, and those are normal for the material rather than defects unless your contract says otherwise.

This website is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's free of errors or always available.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and insured, and we stand behind the work in our contract. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property or damage caused by conditions we didn't create, weren't told about and couldn't reasonably see.

We also aren't responsible for problems that come from work or changes made by others after we finish, from misuse or poor upkeep, or from events outside our control like earthquakes, floods or severe storms. Nothing on this page limits a liability that California law doesn't allow us to limit.

Resolving disputes

If something about your job isn't right, call us first so we can come out, look and try to fix it, because most problems get sorted out faster that way. If we can't settle it between us, we're both open to mediation before either of us goes to court, unless your contract sets a different process.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case about them will be handled in the courts that serve San Diego County, unless the law says otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time, and the version posted here is the one that applies to your use of the site. Changes won't alter a contract you've already signed.
